Day of the Lord and Great Tribulation Do Not Equal

The Great Tribulation is going to last three and one half years (Rev 12:14 1), during which time there are going to be some plagues -- that what befalls the wicked will not have any effect on the believer (Psa 91:1-10). The seven trumpets and woes are not all necessarily on the Day of the Lord Study. I believe the first six trumpets and first two woes reveal some plagues, which appear to be wraths of God; and as wickedness increases, occur at a more intense and greater scale than today. They are going to occur before that Day, during the forty-two months of widespread trouble, persecution, suffering and dying on this earth, and during the two witnesses' time of prophecy (preaching). The seventh trumpet occurs after the Great Tribulation, and the third woe, seven vials and last plagues occur after the First Resurrection.

Comparing the Similarities, making the Connections and establishing the Fact

After one compares some of the language used in describing what the two witnesses do (which could be a summary of in Revelation 11:3-6) with what happens after each of the first six trumpets sound and the first two woes, and then compare that detail with other related parts of Bible prophecy, one can see some similarities between them that help make connections and help establish the fact that those things happen during the Tribulation and not on the Day of the Lord. I believe most Christians who have ever studied Revelation can agree, at this point, that the two witnesses' prophecy (preaching) is during the Great Tribulation. To begin confirming those points, first, please read and study carefully the scripture passages about the two witnesses.

Two Witnesses

"And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.  And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will." (Rev 11:3-6 KJV)

Blood, fire and plagues are some words used to describe some things that happen during the witnesses' prophecy. Second, please read the opening scripture statement on the seven trumpets, and then my comments.
