CHANGING MAJOR OR DEGREE EMPHASIS

Students changing undergraduate majors and graduates changing degree emphasis may be required to complete lower level prerequisite courses before beginning core curriculum.

Each student will be evaluated on a case by case basis. Required and elective courses must be taken on the appropriate degree level on which the student is studying.

GRADING SYSTEM: St. John's University issues grades on a 4.0 system:

A 4.0 Au Audit
A- 3.7 Cr. Credit
B+ 3.3 I. Incomplete
B 3.0 NA Not Applicable
B- 2.7 N. Cr. Non credit
C+ 2.3 P Pass
C 2.0 PB Probation
C- 1.7 UW Unofficial Withdrawal
D+ 1.3 WF Withdrawn Failing
D 1.0 WP Withdrawn Passing
D- 0.7
F 0.0


GRADUATING WITH HONORS

Students will graduate with honors if they have completed a minimum of 15 semester hours of coursework from St. John's University with a minimum of a 3.7 grade point average. Students who graduate with a grade point average or G.P.A. of 3.91 - 4.00 graduate Summa Cum Laude. Students graduating with a G.P.A. of 3.81 - 3.90 graduate Magna Cum Laude. Students graduating with a G.P.A. of 3.70 - 3.80 graduate Cum Laude. These honors will be indicated on the graduate's official transcript.
